Shoshone Falls
Known as the "Niagara of the West", Shoshone Falls tumbles 212 feet to the canyon floor, 50' higher than Niagara Falls. Late spring and early summer are the best seasons to visit the falls. Shoshone Falls has many areas that you can enjoy a picnic or just relax under the large shade trees. Also the new 1.4 mile Centennial Trail will take you up out of the canyon and within 100 yards of the Evel Knievel jump site. Three information kiosks are being installed this year and the parking lot adjacent to the entrance is being rebuilt. An $3 per vehicle entrance fee is charged from April to October. Over 190 acres await you and your family to take pleasure in at Dierkes Lake. There are restrooms, shelters, playground equipment, picnic tables, open grass areas to use, and lifeguards during the summer months. There is a 1.7 mile trail that loops around the lake, this trails is not paved or ADA accessible. An $3 per vehicle entrance fee is charged from April to October.
