CSI Theatre Camp is designed just for students age 12 through 18 who are interested in learning more about what goes into a play by experiencing the theatre arts in a hands-on environment. Classes incude makeup, lighting, scene shop, acting, developing a character, and scene work. In the classroom, in rehearsal, and in performance students learn valuable techniques and skills that help them grow as people and as artists, and through this celebrate the joy and magic of live performance and of life itself!
Camp Director Laine A. Steel has been a director, designer, and theatre professor at CSI for 20 years. Laine has a righ history teaching such classes as Theatre History, Voice for the Theatre, Drama in the Classroom, Stagecraft, Stage Lighting, Play Production, and Communication, Puppetry, Makeup, acting, Shakespeare, and Stage Combat.
Cost of the Camp is $150. Students will need to bring a lunch with them. The camp will run from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 5 - 9, in the CSI Fine Arts Center.
